Last October 9th, the non-profit association Sonrisa Médica, which accompanies hospitalized children with their clowns, celebrated in Mallorca the “Dia de Nassos”. This event was supported by the Calvià Town Hall, and the winery Son Vich de Superna collaborated by donating wine for a solidarity raffle.
During this charity party families could enjoy many activities. From 10 am to 6 pm there were robotics, painting, gastronomy, and music workshops. There were also various activities such as playground games, road safety track, electric motorcycle circuit, library and toy library, face painting, bouncy castles, batucada, circus, storytelling, rock concert, magic, and many more.
Throughout the day, attendees enjoyed the presence of clowns from Sonrisa Médica, and at the charity bar there was a ‘scratch and win’ game with great prizes to support the charity.
The profits obtained contribute to the maintenance of the social activity of Sonrisa Médica, a non-profit association, pioneer in Spain in the field of accompaniment of Hospital Clowns to patients and declared of public utility by the Ministry of the Interior in 2004. This association gives illusion and humor in the public hospitals of the Balearic Islands and firmly believes in joy as the best medicine, and in the potential of the hospital clown as a therapeutic tool.
